Renault Captur radiocode
The Renault Captur I (2013–2019) is a compact crossover that came with the Media Nav as the standard infotainment system at launch. This touchscreen navigation system uses the Renault PRE-code security system and locks after power loss. The Captur is special in the Renault line because it almost had no Update List — nearly all models have Media Nav or the later R-Link version. Due to the strong sales success in the Netherlands, there are many Capturs for which the radio code is needed after a battery change or electrical fault.

Wo finde ich den PRE-Code in meinem Captur?
In the Renault Captur I, the PRE-code sticker is almost always in the glove compartment, on the back wall or the bottom. Open the compartment fully and use a torch if necessary — the sticker may be somewhat faded. On some Captur I models with R-Link navigation, the code is enclosed in a document folder provided at purchase. If the sticker cannot be found, you can remove the Media Nav (via clips around the screen) and read the sticker on the back.
Nützliche Tipps für den Captur
- The Captur Media Nav has a greater chance of an unreadable sticker than classic models — check with a good light source.
- On the Captur I, the Media Nav sometimes uses a longer PRE-code with letters and numbers; enter it completely and accurately with your request.
- After a power failure or battery replacement, the navigation system may also request a restart — this is separate from the radio code and resolves itself.
- Store the radio code digitally (e.g. in a secure notepad) as the Captur is often resold and a new owner will almost certainly need the code.

Häufig gestellte Fragen zum Captur Radiocode
Most Captur I models (2013–2019) have the Media Nav as standard. Basic Life and Expression trim levels sometimes had an Update List radio without touchscreen in the first production years. Look at your radio: touchscreen = Media Nav, buttons = Update List.
"SAFE" or "CODE" on the screen means the radio is locked and waiting for the four-digit unlock code. Request the code via our site using your PRE-code and enter it via the touchscreen.
Renault dealers can request the code but usually charge a labour fee of €50 to €80. Through us it costs only €8.95 and the code is delivered on average within 60 seconds.
Absolutely. The PRE-code is linked to the radio device, not the owner. As long as you can read the PRE-code from the sticker in the car, you can request the radio code for any Captur.
